On Thursday 29 May, the biggest food and drink festival in the North of Scotland proved it was also the best when it scooped the Food Tourism Award at the CiS Excellence Awards 2008.
The awards ceremony took place at the Hilton Glasgow where Highland Feast, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, saw off stiff competition from finalists The Outer Hebrides Food Producers' Association and The Selkirk Arms Hotel to take the prestigious title.
The Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards celebrate and reward excellence in the Scottish hospitality, catering and tourism industries. The Food Tourism Award won by Highland Feast recognises the increased importance of Food-Tourism to the Scottish economy. Nominations were invited from all sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry, including local and national businesses and initiatives with a strong food bias.
